TNT aims to help reducing world's hunger

The distribution company TNT International Express intends to help reduce hunger in the world by joining effort with the United Nations' World Food Program (WFP), an official said on Tuesday.

"We intend to halve the proportion of people who suffer from hunger in 1990-2015," said Andry Adiwinarso, Country Director of TNT International Express, in a press conference here.

He said that hunger issue is not related to food scarcity but the distribution one.

"Food has expiry date so we want to help, among others, by training other parties with distribution expertise." He added that TNT pledged to more active in fighting against hunger.

So far, TNT has invested 50 million euro in the partnership in the hands-on support program.
