Chinese shares edged slightly higher Wednesday, ending losses in previous three trading days.
The Shanghai Composite Index closed at 2,571.42 points, up 3.14 points, or 0.12 percent from the previous close.
The Shenzhen Component Index ended at 10,188.14 points, up 89.69 points, or 0.89 percent, from the previous close.
Total turnover sharply contracted from Tuesday's 150.5 billion yuan to 126.1 billion yuan (18.46 billion U.S. dollars).
Gainers outnumbered loosers by 730 to 140 in Shanghai and 821 to 120 in Shenzhen. E
