Chinese equities rose sharply Tuesday and regained the 2,400 level in the morning session, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index climbed 1.75 percent to 2,405.43 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index surged 2.43 percent to close at 9,393.83.
Coal and non-ferrous metal producers led the rise by surging 3.1 percent and 3.17 percent, respectively.
The Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) on Tuesday started accepting online subscriptions from individual investors to its A-share initial public offering (IPO) after institutional investors' subscriptions ended.
ABC said earlier in a statement filed with the Shanghai Stock Exchange it has set the price range for the Shanghai portion of its IPO at 2.52 to 2.68 yuan per share.
