Germany's Liebherr Group and the United States' Honeywell signed letters of intent Friday as system suppliers of China's jumbo jet C919.
Liebherr, with China's AVIC Landing gear Advanced Manufacturing Corp, will supply landing gears to the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), the manufacturer of C919, according to their letters of intent.
Honeywell and two domestic companies will supply wheel, tire and braking systems.
Both Liebherr and Honeywell are also system device suppliers for another aircraft of COMAC, the ARJ21-700.
The C919 aircraft, designed for upward of 150 seats, is likely to make its maiden flight by 2014 and enter service in 2016. It is estimated that China will make 2,355 C919 planes in the next 20 years.
COMAC was set up with state approval in 2008 to develop China's first homegrown large jet airliner.
