Chinese shares close higher midday Thursday

Chinese equities closed higher on midday Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.22 percent to 2,541.07 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index increased 0.64 percent to close at 10,390.45.
