Aigo president to join Gates/Buffett Giving Pledge

Feng Jun, president of Aigo Information Digital Technology Company, has publicly announced that he intends to donate 100 percent of his fortune to Chinese charitable organizations, the Yangtze Evening Post reported on Sept. 10.
Feng is the second person in China to make such a commitment, following Chen Guangbiao, the chairman of Jiangsu Huangpu Recycle Resources Use Co. Ltd.
"I am indebted to my family and my country. For this reason, I intend to donate my entire fortune to domestic charities. I will die without regrets if my body can be draped in the Chinese flag when I die," he wrote in a Sept. 9 micro-blog entry.
Aigo is a leading Chinese consumer electronics maker and a market leader in portable hard drives, digital photo frames and MP5 players. Aigo is also currently the only Chinese brand of digital cameras.
Feng's announcement has attracted a large amount of positive attention on the net and many Chinese have called for other wealthy people to follow Feng's example.
Chen Guangbiao, often referred to in the press as China's most charismatic philanthropist, recently wrote in a letter to Bill Gates and Warren Buffett that he is willing to donate his net worth under their Giving Pledge initiative. The two American multi-billionaires have encouraged the world's richest people to donate at least 50 percent of their wealth to philanthropic organizations.
