China, the largest holder of U. S. Treasury debt, slightly added its holdings in July, said the U. S. Department of Treasury on Thursday.
China's holdings of Treasury securities rose to 846.7 billion U. S. dollars in July, an increase of 0.36 percent from June, according to the latest Treasury International Capital data.
China, the biggest holder of U.S. Treasury securities, trimmed its holdings by 24 billion U.S. dollars to 843.7 billion dollars in June, the second consecutive month of decline.
Japan, the second largest holder of U.S. Treasury securities, increased its holdings to 821 billion U.S. dollars in July from 803.6 billion U.S. dollars in June.
Net foreign acquisition of long-term U.S. securities is estimated to reach 44 billion U.S. dollars in July.
