Macao's major sectors saw the numbers of their employees increase in the third quarter of 2010, according to figures released Friday by the city's Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
The hotel and restaurant sector took on 49,550 paid employees, up 4.7 percent year-on-year. In September, the average income of the sector's full-time employees went up 2.6 percent year-on-year to 10,220 patacas (1,310 U.S. dollars), the figures indicated.
The financial sector had 5,651 paid employees, up 3.2 percent year-on-year. The average income of full-time employees in September rose 4.5 percent year-on-year to 18,250 patacas.
The electricity, gas and water supply sector had 1,068 paid employees, up 0.7 percent year-on-year. The average income of full-time employees in September went up 0.9 percent year-on-year to 22,460 patacas.
Meanwhile, local manufacturing sector had just 13,604 paid employees, posting a drop of 16.6 percent year-on-year.
