Shanghai General Motors announced the recall of 7,939 imported Cadillac CTS cars in China on a passenger-seat sensor pad defect, Beijing News reported Monday.

According to Shanghai GM, the joint venture between Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation and General Motors, the recalled models were produced between March 23, 2004, and June 26, 2007.

The recall is set to begin on Feb. 16 and the automaker said last week that it will replace the faulty sensor pads.

China's business press carried the story above on Monday. China.org.cn has not checked the stories and does not vouch for their accuracy.
