The Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) and China have signed two agreements on non-interest loans worth 16 million U.S. dollars in a bid to boost economic and technical cooperation between the two countries.

The agreements were signed on Thursday by Congolese Foreign Minister Alexis Thambwe Mwamba and the Chinese ambassador to DR Congo, Wang Yingwu.

At the signing ceremony, the Chinese envoy said China will continue to support DR Congo in its efforts to consolidate peace, stability and democracy. China would continue giving economic and technical aid the Central African country to transform its potentialities into tools of development, the ambassador added.

On his part, the Congolese chief diplomat said the signing of the agreements was a demonstration of the intensity of the relations between DR Congo and China.
