China is expected to lower jet fuel prices by about 300 yuan per ton in January as international crude oil prices continue to drop, China Securities Journal reported Tuesday.

The country’s top economic planner initiated a fuel price reform in July this year, under which jet fuel prices have been adjusted on a monthly basis since August. Next month's adjustment will be the sixth since the reform.

China's current jet fuel price-setting mechanism is much more flexible than that of gasoline and diesel. Previous media reports said the National Development and Reform Commission had formed a "relatively mature" plan concerning the oil product price reform.

China's business press carried the story above on Tuesday.
