Abstract
During the past six months since the Chinese President brought forward the conception of Silk Road Economic Belt, both Chinese scholars and Central Asian analysts have carried out in-depth researches into this idea. People hold different views about this new strategy, though supporters are prepared to participate in specific projects despite some skeptical views. With keen interest, Kazakhstan has given a strong backing to China’s idea since the beginning. At present, the country is further exploring the ways in which this strategy can bring benefits to all participants. We believe that the multilateral cooperation during the initial stage should focus on such fields as cross-border transportation, logistics and infrastructure. From such an angle, the paper discusses the advantages and features of the Silk Road Economic Belt and also analyzes the possible challenges and risks during its implementation.
