Abstract
The State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) has taken the lead in the development of smart power grid construction and power technologies. It has made fruitful achievements in R&D and engineering construction in key fields like extra-high voltage, smart power grids and new energy. SGCC is also a frontrunner in electrical equipment manufacturing, project contracting and consulting. To speed up the implementation of its internationalization strategy, the SGCC has made remarkable accomplishments in overseas investment, operation and project contracting, and international energy cooperation, etc. Owing to the huge potentials of countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt in economic growth, their power consumption is bound to surge in the future, which requires development and renovation of electricity infrastructure. In addition to that, the imbalanced distribution of power resources in the region also demands the interconnection of the grids and cross-border and trans-regional power transmission. By virtue of its edges in technologies, management and comprehensive strength, the SGCC is willing to participate in the electricity infrastructure construction and renovation, regional grid interconnection, cross-border and trans-regional power transmission, promoting win-win cooperation among countries involved.
