Audi says it will accept punishment for breaching anti-monopoly laws in China, and it could be the largest anti-monopoly fine in the country.

An investigation by Chinese authorities found that Audi's dealer arm had "violated national anti-monopoly laws".

Audi says it will "closely cooperated with the investigation and will accept a penalty."

Media reports suggest the fine could reach 1.8 billion yuan based on Audi's sales last year.

The equivalence of almost 300 million U.S. dollars would be the largest fine since the anti-monopoly law was launched in 2008.
