When Apple says its Apple Watch will be "coming early 2015", it means April.
Apple's CEO Tim Cook announced the shipping timeframe on Tuesday, January 27 during the company's quarterly earnings call with investors. But Cook didn't elaborate on regional launch dates or pricing details.
The Apple Watch will come in three styles: the regular model, the Apple Watch Sport version, and the gold Apple Watch Edition eying the luxury market.
Previous media reports have said that the smart watch will be available in Europe around the same time as its U.S. release, but users in China may have to wait a little longer.
Apple unveiled designs of the Apple Watch on September 9 of last year, together with the latest iPhones. The smart watch is the iPhone maker's first major attempt into the wearable market.
Also on Tuesday, Apple reported record-high earnings from its fiscal 2015 first quarter ended December 27, 2014. The company posted a quarterly net profit of US$18 billion, the biggest ever by a public company, thanks to the release of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, as well as the proud performance of the App Store.
Meanwhile, Apple topped the smartphone market in China for the first time, beating Xiaomi, Samsung and Huawei, according to data released on Tuesday by the research firm Canalys.
