Apple Music yielded and said it would pay labels for the rights to stream their music during a 90-day free trial, shortly after an open letter by Taylor Swift.

Taylor Swift threatened to withhold her album 1989 from the company's streaming music service over royalty payments.

She said in an open letter that she she was shocked and disappointed after Apple Music declared it wouldn't pay writers, producers, or artists for a three-month trial period.

She added it's not too late to change this policy and change the minds of those in the music industry who will be deeply and gravely affected by this decision.

Apple responded to Swift in a series of tweets saying that AppleMusic will pay artists for streaming, even during customer's free trial period.

Swift previously removed her album from Spotify in a dispute over compensation for streaming music.
