150 business tycoons accompany Xi for UK visit

Chinese President Xi Jinping starts his state visit to the United Kingdom this afternoon, and according to media reports, he's being joined on his 5-day visit by a 150-member entrepreneurial delegation.

Chinese newspaper Global Times reports that the business delegation, organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), includes represents from various crucial commercial sectors of the Chinese economy including finance, infrastructure, energy, the automotive industry, aviation, insurance, culture, as well as investment.

The report says the range of Chinese entrepreneurial representatives reveals that the cooperation between China and the UK involves very broad areas, not only in the area of trade and investment, but also including culture and education.

The entrepreneurs visiting the UK with Chinese President Xi include the board chairman of China General Nuclear He Yu, vice president of China National Nuclear Power Yu Peigen, chairman of the board of directors of Hainan Airlines Chen Feng, and the presidents of three major banks in China: ICBC (Industrial and Commercial Bank of China), China Construction Bank, Agricultural Bank of China.

In the automobile area, Wang Chuanfu, the president of BYD Auto Company and Li Shufu, the board chairman of Geely Group has also accompanied President Xi's state visit to Britain.

In the field of investment, Ding Xuedong, the board chairman of China Investment Corporation; Chang Zhenming, the board chairman of China Citic Bank; and Wang Chaoyong, board chairman of ChinaEquity were also included on the delegation list.

Representatives from China's infrastructure industry including building materials industry, manufacturing as well as Communications industry are also visiting the UK with President Xi, such as the heads of China Building Materials Group Corporation, China Three Gorges Corporation and SANY Group.

Also - with a total of 6 members from its subsidiary companies or departmental representative - China Poly Group Corporation dispatched the "largest" visiting delegation for President Xi's visit.

Included in the delegation, business tycoons like Wu Xiaohui from Anbang Insurance Group, Jia Yueting from Letv, Zhang Jindong from Suning Group and Peng Shou from Triumph Group are also on the list.
