Alibaba founder Jack Ma has become the latest investor to snap up a French vineyard.

The second-richest person in China has bought the Chateau de Sours vineyard in France's famed wine-growing region of Bordeaux.

A purchase price has not been announced.

It does include an 85-hectare property which produces 500-thousand bottles of wine a year.

Chinese tycoons have invested in over 100 properties in France's southwest wine-producing area in recent years.

This makes around 1.5-percent of the region's roughly 7-thousand vineyards.
