Lucky Air, a subsidiary of HNA Group, has launched a direct air route between southwest China's Kunming city, Yunnan province, and Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur.

A Boeing 737-800 aircraft carrying 180 passengers took off from Kunming Changshui International Airport on Monday morning, marking beginning of the service.

The 8L9595/6 flights are operated on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, with one-way flight duration around three hours and 40 minutes, according to the airline.

Takeoff time is 8:50 am from Kunming and at 1:35 pm from Kuala Lumpur.

It is Lucky Air's third air route to Malaysia, following the Kunming-Sabah and Kunming-Penang routes.
