China has become one of the first countries to achieve an economic rebound in the past two years, and maintained steady and relatively fast economic development under extremely difficult and complex conditions, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said Monday.
Wen made the remarks in a speech delivered at the opening ceremony of the fourth Summer Davos held in north China's port city Tianjin.
"From the second quarter of 2009, the downward trend in (China's) economic growth was quickly reversed," Wen said.
China's economy grew by 9.1 percent in 2009 and 11.1 percent in the first half of 2010.
The three-day meeting, also known as the Annual Meeting of New Champions 2010, under the World Economic Forum, attracted some 1,500 high-profile officials, scholars and business leaders from nearly 90 countries and regions.
