The European Union (EU) has filed 152 trade remedy cases against China, with remedy measures imposed on 56 products imported from China, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Commerce.
The figures, which run to the end of March, showed that the EU had launched 149 anti-dumping cases against China, two cases of protective measures, and one special tariff case.
Chen Dawei, an expert with the Beijing WTO Affairs Center, told the Beijing Daily that 56 is quite high in a global context.
Some of the Chinese products had been subject to repeated EU trade remedy measures. For instance, the EU has been imposing anti-dumping measures on Chinese shoes for as long as five years.
