Wang said: "The development of China's instant noodles industry has generated a great deal of attention worldwide, as the country now takes up around half of the world's market shares. Most remarkably, Tingyi, together with its major brand Master Kong, accounts for nearly 19 percent of global sales. "
He added that, as the host of this year's instant noodles Olympics, the company hopes to share China's know-how with stakeholders from across the world.
Wei, also known as the instant noodles king, hopes that through the concerted efforts led by Tingyi and other major producers, the industry will achieve a controlled, swift and efficient growth.
China's role on the international stage is becoming more and more significant thanks to its industrial leaders, such as Tingyi, Jinmailang, Baixiang and Uni-President, all of which have made unremitting efforts to promote the industry's rapid and sustainable development.
At present, Izham Mohamed, Executive Director-Food Business Unit at Nestlé Products Sdn. Bhd., serves as the WINA Director General.
The biennial event, first held in Tokyo, Japan in 1997, gathers the top managements of worldwide instant noodles businesses in order to share their experiences with industry regulations, technologies, operations and marketing.
