Sun Shuyi, chairman of the Shandong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), was removed from his post Thursday.
The decision was made at a meeting of the CPPCC Shandong Provincial Committee held in the afternoon.
Sun, 64, was also deprived of his CPPCC provincial membership at the meeting.
The CPPCC Shandong Committee did not disclose the reason for his dismissal.
Sun, born in 1945 in Shandong, had served many Party posts at different levels in the province since 1970, including vice secretary of Communist Party of China's Shandong provincial committee in 2000.
