7 killed in east China road accident

Seven people were killed and another 14 injured in a collision involving a car and two buses in east China's Fujian Province Wednesday morning.

The accident occurred at about 2 a.m.in Zhao'an County on the Shenhai highway when a car hit the rear end of a bus and caught on fire. The bus was then hit by a second bus, said a spokesman with Zhao'an County's information office.

All the five people in the car were burnt to death, and two ticket collectors on the second bus died on the spot, the spokesman said.

All 14 injured passengers were in hospital, five of whom were in critical conditions.

The section of the highway was closed until 11 a.m..
