A total of 11 miners were trapped in a flooded mine early Monday morning in central China's Henan Province, local authorities said.
The flooding happened at 00:40 a.m. and the trapped miners were all from Shunda Mining Co. Ltd., Biyang County, Zhumadian City, said Liu Weiming, deputy chief of the city's publicity department.
Rescue was underway and the miners remained unaccounted for, Liu said.
The company is engaged in iron and non-ferrous metals mining.
