Ma Xiaotian, deputy chief of the General Staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, met in Beijing Monday with a delegation of relatives of martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army.

The martyrs had been honored as heroes of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

The meeting was held before the delegation started a one-week visit to the DPRK. During the trip, they will pay tribute to Chinese volunteer soldiers who died fighting the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953).

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army's entering into the DPRK to fight the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea.
