CAE elects new leadership

Mechanical engineering expert Zhou Ji was Friday elected president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), one of China's top honorary bodies, which advises the government and industries on key scientific and technological issues.
Zhou was elected at the 10th academician conference of the CAE.
Five other academicians -- computer application technologist Pan Yunhe, biotechnologist Xu Rigan, coal chemist Xie Kechang, metallurgy expert Gan Yong and gastroenterologist Fan Daiming -- were elected vice presidents of the CAE.
