A husband whose wife poisoned their disabled son has asked Pinggu district court to rule they should divorce, Beijing Times reported Sunday.

The husband, Wang Guo, said the burden of having a handicapped child led to altercations between him and his wife, Wang Xia, who subsequently suffered from depression.

Last May, Wang Xia poisoned her son with pesticide, which caused his death. She was sentenced to life in prison last December.
