Chinese Embassy in Jamaica mourns for Zhouqu mudslide victims

On the morning of August 15, 2010 (Local Time), staff members of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Jamaica holds a ceremony in Kingston, capital of Jamaica, to mourn for the victims of the deadly mudslide disaster which hit Zhouqu County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in northwest China's Gansu Province on August 8.

The Chinese National Flag in front of the Embassy's Office Building is lowered to half-mast to mourn the victims of the mudslide.

As of 4 p.m. August 15 (Beijing Time), the death toll from the massive mudslide has risen to 1,248 as of 4 p.m. Sunday, with 496 still missing.
