A deserted bridge collapsed during demolition on Wednesday in Suihua City, north China's Helongjiang Province, killing at least four people, local officials said.

The bridge, already rendered dangerous to use before demolition, collapsed at about 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, the municipal publicity officials said.

No further details are available. Authorities are probing the cause of the collaspe.
