Beijing police micro blog draws much attention

The micro blog of Beijing police attracted more than 230,000 viewers after operating for about four months, the Beijing News reported.
With a purpose to communicate with the public sincerely, openly and immediately, the blog enjoyed a click rate of over 110 million, received nearly 45,000 messages and solved 89 problems reported online, the report said.
The columns of reports on public security; hints on precautions and measures for efficient services are among the most popular.
"The bloggers' team adjusted the blog's expressions and contents based on suggestions from Internet users, and avoided using official language, which has been blamed for being impractical and apart from daily lives," said Liu Dawei, director of police bureau's news office.
"We normally don't delete messages even critical ones, and just remove illegal and unreasonable messages after putting them into records," according to Hu Pengju, one of the bloggers.
The messages have been recorded, filed and reported to the bureau leaders, citing a police officer named Lv Pingzhang.
After receiving a message, the bloggers will contact relevant departments and provide a solution, although sometimes the problems reported may be fake, said police officer Zhao Feng.
About one fifth of its followers are from Beijing and the others come from all over the country and even abroad.
As a micro blog of public security system, the blog officially opened in August 1, 2010, according to the report.
