A tourist coach carrying 36 Chinese mainland tourists crashed into an orchard Saturday morning on its way from Taitung to Hualien, both counties in Taiwan.

Eight mainland tourists were slightly injured by glass from the coach's smashed windshield. The bus crashed into several trees and a work shed in the orchard, local police said.

The bus driver said his mind went blank before the accident. The 36 mainland tourists came from Guangdong Province, police said.
