Luo, 30, was abandoned by her parents only four days after her birth because she was born without arms. She was then fostered by another family, surnamed Luo, and began to learn to do everything that others do by hand, including sewing, cooking, writing, painting, typing and even combing hair.

She and her husband got to know each other in April 2005, after he wrongly sent her a text message, which was supposed to go to someone else - they soon fell in love by communicating by phone.

 At first, Luo was afraid of being rejected when Xu suggested a meeting, even though Luo had told him she didn't have arms. But in June when the two finally met, Xu vowed to take care of her for the rest of her life. They got married that year.
