Rescuers are searching for five shipmen who were missing after their boat capsized Tuesday night in waters off east China's Zhejiang Province, sources with the local marine rescue center said Wednesday.

The accident happened at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in waters off the coast of Zhoushan, said the rescue center in a statement.

The 64-meter boat was damaged after another fishing boat hit on it on the side, said Hu Fushan, a shipman who has been rescued.

All eight crew members aboard the boat jumped into the water before it capsized and sank, according to Hu.

Three have been picked up by rescuers as of 10:00 p.m. Tuesday while rescuers are still searching for the other five by 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
