Mountain fire raging in NE China

Firefighters are battling a mountain fire that has been raging for more than a day on an island near port city of Dalian, northeast China's Liaoning Province, local authorities said Friday.

No deaths have been reported so far after the blaze set at least 10 square km of woods on fire and continued to burn due to strong winds.
The fire was discovered at around 2 p.m. Thursday on Changxing Island, a new economic and technological development zone in Dalian.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
