Police in east China's Fujian Province sent back Thursday three Taiwanese who are wanted on the island on suspicion of fraud.

The three suspects, including two men and a woman, were handed over to Taiwan police authorities at 11 a.m. in the coastal city Xiamen, which faces the island province of Taiwan across the Taiwan Strait.

Taipei citizen Chen Sheng Lung, born in 1956, is suspected of sending fraudulent text messages and making phone calls from his private company in Xiamen to swindle Taiwanese citizens, a spokesman with the Fujian provincial public security department said.

The spokesman said Chen's accomplice Chen Mei Yu, a woman born in 1964, fraudulently claimed to be his wife when the crimes took place.

The third suspect, Chen Jui Peng, born in 1975, is also suspected of swindling Taiwanese by sending fraudulent text messages from Xiamen, the spokesman said.

All three were caught by Fujian police on March 25.

Fujian and Taiwan have intensified their cooperation in fighting crimes ever since Taiwan police requested assistance from the mainland in returning suspects in November 2010.
