Military attaches were attracted by the exhibition [China.org.cn] |
Military attachés from over 30 countries visited an exhibit marking the 60th anniversary of the peaceful liberation of Tibet on Tuesday.
South African Brigadier General Nelwamondo said the exhibit provided useful basic information about Tibet and the Dalai Lama.
“This exhibition is great,” Nelwamondo said. “The most interesting part for me is the second part—‘remarkable achievements.’ I can see a lot of transformation. The CPC has done a very good job.”
The Chinese government has played an important role in the development of Tibet, said Indonesian military attaché Surya Margono.
Garba Abubakar, military attaché from Nigeria, said the exhibition showed the tremendous changes taking place in Tibet.
“I went to Tibet last year,” Abubakar said. “It’s a very good place and has a lot of history and sights to visit.”
A military attaché from Germany said he found the exhibition interesting. It featured a lot of pictures and was very impressive, he added.
The exhibition, which opened June 15, has four sections: ‘the earth-shaking course of history’; ‘remarkable achievements’; ‘improved livelihood’; and ‘brighter prospects.’
The gallery featured more than 500 photos, 30 relics, 30 table displays and graphs and video clips depicting the changes that have taken place in Tibet over the past six decades.
The exhibit runs until July 8 in the Cultural Palace of Nationalities. It’s free and open to public.
