Forty people were stuck Wednesday on an OTIS-produced elevator of Guangzhou Tower, which stopped on the 62nd floor for nearly an hour, the Information Times reported.

All have since been rescued. The tower reportedly has encountered previous incidents where tourists were trapped in the elevator. A malfunctioned OTIS escalator was blamed in a Beijing subway station accident in July that killed one teenager and injured 30 others.
