A Filipino man who organized for 10 models to take part in pornographic photoshoots in Shanghai was sentenced to five years in prison yesterday.
Cai Guangming, 30, was also fined 20,000 yuan (US$3,154) and will be deported from China, the Shanghai No. 1 Intermediate People's Court announced.
Cai was part of a group that staged around 40 porn shoots and performances, taking more than 1,300 obscene photographs in 2009. The others have not been sentenced.
The group brought models and photographers together at local hotels and forced models to adopt pornographic poses for "art photography." Cai was responsible for persuading models to "be open" about exposing their bodies.
He was found guilty of organizing pornographic performances and assembling a crowd in order to engage in licentious activities.
