A tank truck loaded with liquified gas smashed into a freighter train Friday afternoon, pushing a coach of the train off the rail in the southwestern region of Guangxi, fire fighters said.
The truck, carrying 23 tonnes of liquified gas, ran into an operating train at around 4:40 p.m. at a railroad crossing in the city of Qinzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, said an official with the city's fire department.
No casualties have been reported so far and there is no sign of a gas leak as well, said the official.
Fire fighters are moving the empty train carriages away to make way for other trains. So far, 24 of the train's 27 coaches have been relocated.
It is yet unknown how the crash happened and further investigation is underway.
