A nine-year-old girl who tried to stop two abductors from taking away her little cousin was dragged on the road for more than 100 meters by their car.

Police managed to intercept the car and rescue the one-year-old baby in Fenkai County, southern Guangdong Province on January 16. Two abductors were arrested for investigation, a newspaper reported yesterday.

The girl surnamed Huang was playing with her two little cousins when a strange man entered the house and snatched away one baby. He gave the baby to his partner and began to start the car, the Yangtze Evening News said.

The girl rushed out and hung on to the rear-view mirror to force them to return her cousin. But the car moved on and one abductor hit the girl's hand repeatedly. She lost her hold after being dragged for over 100 meters and her feet were bleeding.

Their parents were not at home when the kidnapping took place.
