The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said Thursday that it has used technological innovation in its new data generating system to avoid distortion.
In a bid to improve efficiency and eliminate errors, the NBS refined the system by establishing a standard sample database, an integrated statistical spreadsheet, a unified software platform for data collection, and direct data-reporting.
One of the technical means adopted is that the software platform will record any background modifications, which will help identify illogical changes, NBS head Ma Jiantang said in an interview.
The system was also installed with a function to automatically check the logic of data validation, helping surveyed enterprises avoid errors when inputting data, Ma said.
Starting from Feb. 18, a total of 700,000 industrial, service and real estate companies, which contribute about 80 percent of the country's gross domestic product, will submit their data straight to the National Data Center or approved provincial data centers via the Internet.
