Happiness index highest in Shanghai

The happiness index in Shanghai is the highest in 2011, according to a survey published by the China Economic Weekly. Beijing and Guangdong ranked second and third.

The happiness index is also called per capita disposable income and real value of GDP.

It showed that the happiness indexes in Shanghai and Beijing have risen slightly from 0.4599 and 0.4588 in 2010 to last year's 0.5547 and 0.5020 respectively. In addition, the happiness index in Guizhou, a province that was 26th in 2011's GDP ranking, unexpectedly ranked fifth.
