Fire-fighters in an east China city evacuated more than 320 people from their homes in the wee hours Saturday, after a warehouse for cooking oil caught fire.
About 152 fire-fighters joined the fire extinguishing after the warehouse which belongs to China's popular soybean oil producer Jinlongyu, in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, caught fire.
They evacuated the people from a school, a hotel and a staff dormitory adjacent to the warehouse immediately after they arrived at the fire scene.
The huge blaze was brought under control at 2:40 a.m.
The fire department said the warehouse keeps stocks of cooking oil and rice. No casualties occurred in the fire.
The cause of the fire and the economic losses it incurred were not immediately known.
