An original photo of new China's founding leader Mao Zedong, which was taken by his wife Jiang Qing, will be auctioned on Friday in Beijing, Chinanews.com reports.

It is estimated that the photo will fetch around 30,000 to 50,000 yuan ($ 4,893-8,155) at auction.

Jiang took the photo for Chairman Mao while he sat in a chair in front of Lushan Mountain in 1961.

The photo was originally black and white, but color was later added by hand.
