Car crashes claim 9 lives, wound 49

A series of car accidents in a trans-provincial expressway in central China's Henan province has killed 9 people and wounded another 49 due to sudden frog.

Henan's major news portal, www.dahe.cn, reported early Wednesday at a total of 16 accidents occurred in the Zhumadian section of Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway Tuesday morning and 36 vehicles were damaged.

Local authorities, including from police, traffic, firefighting and health departments, rushed to the scene soon after the accidents and the section of the operation of section of the expressway were back to normal late Tuesday.
