The Beijing municipal government is expected to start an administrative review of a 19-year-old poisoning case related to the former Tsinghua University student Zhu Ling later this month, Urban Times reports.
The local newspaper in southwest China's Yunnan Province reports that a lawyer handling the Zhu Ling poisoning case confirmed that he has submitted a letter to Tsinghua University to start pursuing legal action against the prestigious institution.
The lawyer, Li Chunguang, says the Beijing municipal government has responded to the requests to disclose details of Zhu Ling's poisoning case and will start administrative reconsideration procedures before the end of August.
Li and another lawyer drafted a list of questions regarding the case based on online discussions and will guard the victim's right to information.
Zhu Ling, a former Tsinghua University student, was poisoned with thallium twice in 1994 and 1995. She has since suffered serious neurological damage and permanent physical impairment.
The case was declared closed for lack of evidence in May, 2013.
