A train running on Hangzhou subway's line one powered down in the tunnel-way that travels under the Qiantangjiang river while running between Jinjiang and Jianglinglu train stations in Zhejiang Province on Sunday, the Hangzhou Daily reports.

"The train stopped under the Qiangtangjiang River with a loud bang and some sparks. What happened?" A passenger, whose net name is Yang Tang Ou Ge, posted on the microblogging network, Weibo, soon after the incident.

A total of 113 passengers were then ushered to safety through an emergency passageway as the train was evacuated, reports the Hangzhou Daily.

After the breakdown, Hangzhou MTR's official Weibo account alerted followers to a 25-minute delay for train transit.

The metro was running back on schedule, Hangzhou MTR posted on Monday morning. The cause of Sunday's power failure is currently under investigation.
