An oil tanker exploded and caught fire in the coastal city of Ningbo in east China's Zhejiang Province on Saturday morning, leaving at least seven people dead and one injured, according to local authorities.

The accident happened at about 8:40 a.m. at Zhangjianqi shipyard in the city's Zhenhai District when the 300-tonne vessel was being repaired.
The fire blaze was extinguished at about 11 a.m.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
