China has witnessed the fastest growing megacities in the world since the 1980s. Megacities have been expanding rapidly in terms of GDP and population. However, as competition is becoming fiercer, they are no longer as attractive and comfortable for the young Chinese as before. A recent survey shows that some 61 percent of graduates in China's megacities, including Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, chose to work and live in second- or third-tier cities in 2013. |
